So Deacon came up with an idea that he feels will showcase what the entire gaming community is about.  He came up with something named “Gamer 2 Gamer” as part of his Community Worldwide Program.  It’s an effort meant to put a stamp on just how strong the gaming community is.  What will happen is Deacon will mail an item out soon to begin a huge effort amongst gamers.  Gamers all over the world will be adding their signatures and marks to this item.  It will travel thousands of miles becoming a growing symbol of the community at each stop.

Need a break from GoW, Rs:Vegas, Lost Planet? You are all probably saying “yeah right”. But seriously if you haven’t already you should check out Carcassonne. Honestly, I have never heard of it until it hit the Arcade on June 27^th. It will run you 800 Microsoft points and take up about 45.8 MB on your hard drive.

Carcassonne includes 72 tiles from the original game and 12 tiles from the Rivers expansion. This is a good family game as it supports 4 players on one console with several difficulty levels to choose from and online multiplayer can have up to five players. The achievements are fairly easy and the game comes with a tutorial.

The game begins with a single tile faced up and on each turn the player places a new tile adjacent to tiles that are already face up and must be placed in a way that extends on the tiles it is placed next to. For example roads must connect to roads, fields to fields, and city walls to city walls. When the tile is placed you have the option of placing a follower down to claim that city or road to gain points once that city or road is finished. Once the city or road is finished you get your follower back and a flag with your color is put in its place. Of course the game ends when the last tile is set on the board, the game is then scored and the player with the most points wins.

The tutorial does give more in-depth directions so I recommend giving it a once over before jumping into the game if this is your first time playing Carcassonne.

Single player against the computer set at the easiest level is a guaranteed win almost every time, so for a bit more of a challenge raise the level, set a time per turn, or use the river tiles.

Multiplayer can be a lot of fun but the only draw back is that the game can last a lot longer than it should mainly due to other players want to take their time with their strategies. Even if you set a time for the game most gamers will take the full amount of time allotted to place their piece down.

Gameplay: 5 - Controls are very easy to use

Graphics: 4 – good not great but that is to be expected since it is a tile game

Audio: Honestly I didn’t pay much attention to the music since I was focused on the game. So I can’t really rate it. I would recommend just playing your own sound track if you don’t like the music

Replayability: 4 – I gave it a four because it is fun to play and addictive you can easily play this game for hours especially with friends

Overall: 4 - For a few minor quarks such as the multiplayer games that take a bit longer to play. All in all, it is not only great for the family that likes to game together but for everyone 

I have been feeling really bad over the past few days and felt worse today so I decided to stay home today.   Good thing to it is rainy and yucky outside.  I got up today at 1030am called work and crawled back into bed at 130pm, I didn't wake back up until around 5 or 6pm, I think, not sure, LOL.  I have been working on my marketing paper ever since once I am done I think I will crawl back into bed!

 

so here is my upate:

 

I started my marketing class about 5 weeks ago and I have never had so much work in my life! I have written 5 essays so far and every week we have answer 3 discussion question plus make meaningful responses to 2 students in each thread! Fiesty knows what I am talking about with Kaplan University... LOL..

So this is the bulk of what I do when I am home which I feel like takes up much of my time. I used to be able to visit all of my forums from the internet at work however that was taken away from us! The new hires they brought in decided to abuse the privilage and was using the internet while they were supposed to..grr..I work in a call center so while we are taking calls we are not allowed to be on the internet unless it is to review policy references or procedures (we have an intranet) so apparently they were visiting their myspace pages while on calls and even if front of the supervisors! so after 2 /12 yrs of being there and having internet it is gone.

They have blocked all of the forums I visit.

Next I am going to be an aunt! My sister is due to have her first child any day soon. She is about a month early so I have been trying to be free as much as I can so I can just go when the baby comes. She lives 2 1/2 hours away from me in chicago. She was keeping if the baby was a boy or girl secret but she spilled the beans! I am going to have a nephew...

He is going to be a gamer whether she likes it or not!

But anyway here's the scoop, 72/3 is unscripted nights 3 day event, yes I said 3 days! LOL.. In which 3 different games will be played, start on a friday with GRAW and ending Sunday afternoon with Call of Duty 3.  Sadly I only have Saturdays game which is RS:Vegas, Oh yeah, I'm ready! Hopefully Deacon doesn't restrict the auto-shotty,  me likes it very much..

This is my first time writing a review so go easy on me!!

The opening sequence to the game is an ominous timeline showing at different times the death total in the millions by disease, war, etc. that stops at the year 2013 this is also the year that the game takes place in...

You play as Alicia, using a combination of firepower and magic. Alicia totes around a gunrod that at one end resembles a witches broom. The aim is decent and you get better accuracy if she is crouching down. She does hit pretty hard when you swing that gunrod for a mele attack.

As you progress through each level you earn skill points to unlock new gunrod forms, not sure what these are as I am still in stage 1 but I will post them here as I unlock them.

She has nine different spells, a couple of them you can upgrade by spending skill points. The one I have found most useful so far has been her will power spell. This spell is used to toss objects into enemys however you are unable to cast it directly on the enemy itself to throw them into walls and such. I found this quite odd since I was tossing Semi's around like it was cool.

My other favorite spell is her Lightning spell. The lightning spell can be used to take out bigger things such as tanks... I had fun using it to blow up the gas station... I have yet to get the tornado and the meteor spells so I am sure how those are but I will let you know as soon as I get them and cast one!!


Almost all the enemies look alike which I found kind of dull but I still had fun shoot 'em up or laying the smackdown with my gunrod. I also found the big brain enemy to be kinda creepy!!

I was disappointed there was no multi-player but I have been having alot of fun playing this game, espcially since the main character is a female and that is hard to come by in games... which is why I also love Bloodrayne..

As most everyone knows I reside in Iowa.. I currently work for Mid-American Energy Company... Now our Company services 4 states..

 

So as alot have people have seen on the news we were under a blizzard warning and there was alot of snow, sleet and ice that came down on us on Saturday.  This ended up taking out over 60,000 people in just our service area alone and if we include the other Electric companies it totaled over 160,000+ people.  There were broken power pole, down power lines, transmission lines, and reports of 2 inches of ice on the wires!!!

 

Well I was called into work today at 2pm to work mandatory overtime and we have been put on 12 hour shifts until further notice... Yikes!! I am not used to these long hours as I only work Monday thru Friday for 8 hours a day...

 

Now I don't mind the overtime because it makes for a nice check however I am mad at the stupid weather for interrupting my game play at U360's Unscripted Nights!! Unscripted Nights are always a blast, I always have so much fun playing with the Unscripted Community, what made me even madder was this was the Get Lost night, we were all going to play Lost Planet!! So I was going to get to play the copy I won from Unscripted's Lost Planet Giveaway!!!!

 

I got to play one match and the power went out and came back on for about 30 seconds then it did again 2 more times after that... Each time the power came back on I get 3 flashing red lights on my 360!! So I decided not to chance it and turned my 360 off for the night... Unfortunately it is doing it again tonight the power was fine all day but not that I want to play some it is flickering on and off....GRR..

 

But I really shouldn't complain since I do have power....

Wow where did 2006 go?? I feels as if it was a flash and then it was gone... LOL....  I trust everyone has had a great and safe holiday season!!! And that you recieved everything you wanted...  

 

I have started up another semester but this class should be a breeze it is "Computer Applications".  Yes I recieved my textbook in the mail and opened it up and about died laughing, I couldn't belive the first chapter is was explaining the taskbar, etc... But I guess there are some people out there that really don't know.  It is also about Microsoft Office which I use on a daily basis at work.  But I have to take the class it is one of the curiculm requirements....

So I let myself get sucked back into the world of Oblivion, I am determined to finish it.  However I am one of those gamers that like to adventure everywhere and discover dungeons and new areas so I maybe playing for a while... LOL.... I thought about just completeing the story line and guild quests but to me it takes most of the fun out of it!! I am halfway through the achievements and I have had this game since it was released but I was distracted by all the other games being released.

 

I am looking forward to Lost Planet.  The game looks really good I played the single player demo but didnt get a chance to play the multiplayer so I hope that is good..

I am so sorry everyone for the absence.  I am so glad that my Intro to Business class is ending.  Get ready a rant is coming on!!!

 

I have never had to put so much work into a class before and the Professor is no help. When I ask for clarification he reffers me to the internet or the schools library. Umm Okay isnt that what you are here for is to teach?? Don't get me started on his online seminars.  He doesn't even lecture.  He just throws questions out and lets us answer them and we get the occasional "keep going" or "great work".  In one seminar he acctually admitted that he lost track of the discussion because he was working on other assignments!!

 

I am so glad this is the last week. I barely had anytime to visit anyone, websites, or forums that I like hanging out in...   I have spent so much of my extra time just researching info for this class. I really feel like he is teaching it as if it is an advanced class instead of an intro class.

 

I will be back soon, I promise!!! I miss ya'll!!

 

I really did the stupidest thing last night and I am so mad at myself for doing it too!! I was playing Nighty Nine Nights and one of the achievements is to build all of your characters up to a level 9.  Well, I decided to replay Inphyees last level because I also need to get an A rating here and I accidentally saved it over Aspharrs!!! I am so mad!! I had aspharr up to a level 8 and was at the last of his missions!! Now I have to redo it.... Bummer... I still can't believe I did that. 

 

Now I have to figure out how to unlock the other playable characters.  I unlocked and finished all of Myfee but noone else has unlocked.  Maybe I am not doing something right.

Burger King will be releasing 3 games Pocketbike Racer; Big Bumpin'; and Sneak King.

The three games will be playable on either the Xbox or Xbox 360. They will be available from November 19 through December 24 at participating Burger King locations for $3.99 with the purchase of a value meal.

according to Game Spot:

Pocketbike Racer will feature a number of Burger King mascots, including the King, the Subservient Chicken, the Whopper Jr., and former host of E!'s Wild On series, Brooke Burke. Five levels will be included, as will multiplayer races for four people on the same Xbox or Xbox 360, or eight people online over Xbox Live.

Big Bumpin' also takes a lineup of BK mascots and pits them against one another in vehicular competition, but this game isn't a race so much as a bumper-car ride. The game features a number of theme-park settings and on-track hazards like saws and bottomless pits, as well as bump-pumping power-ups. Big Bumpin' will also have four-player action and online multiplayer support.

Finally, Sneak King takes the stealth action genre and puts it to a friendlier use than usual. Instead of tiptoeing behind enemy guards to silently snap their necks, players will sneak up on hungry people to surprise them with offerings of Burger King food. Gamers will have to sneak up on people in a logging yard, a construction site, downtown, and the suburbs, and they will be graded on their performance "based on how elaborate the delivery is executed."

There are also acheivements for these games... I am not sure what they are but if I find out I will post them!!

Oh yeah I am so buying these just because....

Please forgive me if I seem sparse.... I just found out that I will be mentoring/coaching new hires until Nov 10th!!! Which means I have limited access to my computer at work because they have to be logged on to my computer at all time to take calls.

The new hires have to take live calls from customers and I have to sit there to make sure they are giving the corect info, setting up the right arrangements, etc. It really wears on you after doing it all day and by the time I get home I really dont want to get on the computer I have to force myself to do my homework!!

I will be on as much as I can I promise!!!

I saw that a couple of the gamers on my friends list were playing open season so I thought I would give it a try.  I was hoping it would cheer me up, I've been so under the weather lately.  This time of the year kills me, yuck.  Whenever I click on the furnace for the first time, the whole first week I end up so stuffed up and achey.  This is not good considering I am mentoring a new hire at work for the next 2 weeks.  I totally sound like a frog, LOL, and have to speak up now when talking because my throat is so dry and scratchy!! 

 

But anyway enough of that, back to open season.  This game is so much fun even though it is such a kids game.  It cracks me up!!  The graphics are unbelievable good considering it is made for kids and the achievements are fairly easy to get.  I love the part where Boog, the bear you play, land on the porcupine and he has to shake his butt to get it off then the beavers make fun of you for doing it.  Throwing elliot is also awesome.  He says the funniest things when you pick him up and again after you toss him.  It is a nice break from Saints Row, believe me.
